From Speech & Language Therapist To Informatician

Douglas Hamandishe, CCIO and broadcaster, chats with Róisín Reade, Head of Implementation and Product Manager at Malinko about why she made the giant leap from Speech and Language Therapy to the world of health technology. 

 

Róisín’s inner geek was unleashed when Malinko was implemented at her NHS Trust in 2018. She wasn’t expecting to switch from being a clinician to a career in digital transformation, but this means she ensures the voice of the clinician is at the heart of all product developments. Her deep-rooted passion for community services, which are often overlooked when it comes to advances in technology, drives her to continually improve Malinko so district nurses, therapists, social workers and all community-based health and social care teams can release efficiencies, join up care and use data to redesign clinical pathways.
